if it’s almost Easter, why am i humming Christmas tunes?

First of all check out these awesome photos:
This is Jake, the main explorer of our Adventures in the Cove of the Shark (Shark’s Cove) ;)

Next we have the explorer and his wonderful wife :)

followed by a picture of some lucky guy’s Awesome car. Isn’t that just the best surf car ever?

And now we move on to the most important and possibly life-changing picture of them all:

Barbie in a 90’s Christmas getup.

Tomorrow is Easter, but both Jake and I have been singing and humming Christmas carols. haha. Let’s just say i’m ready for christmas. Jake said Barbie reminded him of someone who would be on one of those Christmasy-Feel-Good commercials. i agree—but i also think she looks really cute with her red sweater and red heels :). i wish i had red heels. of course i probably would never wear them because i have black heels and i think i’ve worn them like twice….maybe.

so i’m multi-tasking right now. i know all those “anti-multi-tasking” experts are going to say it’s impossible, but here’s the thing. i’m writing a journal entry in spanish for my spanish class, but here’s the kicker. i don’t really know that much spanish so i have to think about what i do know. while i’m waiting for inspiration to hit, i’m typing this up, playing Baking Life on Facebook and listening to Stevie Nicks belt out about falling in love. :)

Here’s some news. Jake and I auditioned for Alice in Wonderland and we were cast! :) Jake is going to be the March Hare (he’s been doing character research by watching YouTube videos of hares grooming themselves…lol) and I’m Trey, the 3 of hearts. :) (look at that, i came up with a sentence for spanish)  =)

Lucky once again...

It’s interesting to think that something so beautiful and so calm can kill us all.

Most days the ocean is my friend, my goddess, my savior, my safe place. Sometimes she goes through rough spots; sometimes people die. Who knew something that brings me so much joy could create so much fear. and pain, too?

the ocean has always brought me so much peace. if there was ever a metaphor for the power of God, it’s the ocean.

We’re ok. this time. again. but—like Christy said—let’s hope the third time isn’t the charm.

while we were packing the house up, putting all our books and everything else we wanted to keep dry high up, I commented how i felt like we were pioneer’s, leaving out home and everything in it. i had packed a small bag with a change of clothes, our toothbrushes and a couple stuffed animals i’d be heartbroken to loose (pork chop was in that posse). Jake agreed that it all felt very Lehi-y (he didn’t say “Lehi-y,” he said something more like “Yeah I feel like Lehi). anyway, we’re fine. we’re actually headed back to the school, where i have classes and work scheduled for today. BYU-H called me three times to make sure I got the message that there IS school. Those bums.

I am extremely grateful that Oahu only saw some changes in water level. I’m going to parrot Obama here and say Our hearts and prayers go out to those in Japan. As far as I’ve heard, Maui and Big Island suffered some water damage, but—again, as far as I’ve heard—there were no fatalities.

Keep Japan in your prayers. We will be.

Valentimes!!

we had a pretty awesome valentines day even though it wasn’t until like 8:30PM that we finally got to spend any time together. luckily Valentines wasn’t on a Tuesday or we wouldn’t have seen each other AT ALL!

so when i got home from work, i made chicken, orzo and asparagus. it was pretty amazing (even though i burned the asparagus a little and it was pretty soaked in lemon juice)

then it was PRESENT TIME!

Jake got Hot Tamales (the candy) and…

It’s one of the creator sets, so you can make (well jake can make…he might share with you) 3 different sets. he made the one that is on the front of the box first.

and I got a box of chocolates and…

the Hermione lego person is a magnet and she comes off the stand so i can play with her. :) i also got red nail polis and pink (which is the one you can see) GLOW IN THE DARK nail polish. how completely awesome is that?

Anyway. Happy hearts to everyone. :) we had a great valentimes.

hormones…

so is it weird that i was driving home from picking up Jake’s Valentine’s day present when i heard this song and started balling because the kids i don’t have yet will one day grow up?

yeah. you read that right:

i started to ball over the loss of childhoods that i hadn’t even birthed yet.

no wonder men can’t stand women during their period. lol. anyway, this song is really cute, and i love it—despite the crying it causes me. hahaha

First of all, LOOK AT THIS!

P2100201

It’s my wonderful husband in his new work uniform! Sexy, huh? I’m gunna have to beat other girls off with a stick…or a tazer :)

Harry Potter is AWESOME! i get to watch the movies…FOR HOMEWORK…well sort of.

i’m writing my senior paper on Harry Potter, so when my eyes get tired of reading, i can just watch harry on the good ole boob-tube and refresh my memory.

A little update...

Jake and I have both been cast in this year's Shakespearean tale: A Winter's Tale Jake is-of course-one of the main characters; I'm a nobody. By nobody I mean I don't even have a name, and as of tonight I have 3 lines. To be honest, I'm pretty cool with it. I've got a hundred other things I'm doing, so memorizing line upon line and all that jazz would be pretty intense. :) Jake is going to Kapiolani Community College and taking a Korean 201 class. He's recently been hired as a Canoe pusher at PCC (all i have to say is i am EXCITED for those big ole man muscles that come with pushing heavy-set haoles on those canoes-no offense).

so far

so good.

hopes and dreams

Disclaimer: I AM NOT PREGNANT. Nor do I plan to become so any time soon.

I have-however-been thinking about kids a lot. (Mostly because of Jake’s Lego obsession) There are certain things my husband does and has that I want to be able to see in my sons (and daughter…maybe).

I want them to have…

His blue eyes

that mop of curly brown hair

his smile

the way his talks slightly to one side

his love

his imagination

his passion

his chin

the way his whole face lights up when he smiles

his laugh

his mischievous giggle (it’s honestly a giggle) :)

his sense of humor

his smarts

his satisfaction with who he is

the fact he likes what he likes whether it’s the popular thing to like or not

i want our boys to look at their future wives and be able to accept them just the way they are,

just like Jake did, does, will always
