So for those of you who don’t know we’ve been practicing and performing The Wonderful Wizard of Oz for the past few weeks. Jake is Uncle Henry and I’m Aunt Em. it’s been so much fun. we’ve absolutely loved it (well i have for my part). Last night was our last performance. we’re really sad to see it end, but also happy to have our time back, we have so much that we need to do!! it’s finals week…well, finals day…we have school off on Monday and neither of us have class until Wednesday. it’s going to be a busy week, but we’ll get through it! I’m greatly looking forward to the next play we get to be in. i know it’ll be a lot of work, but i’m really eager to participate in another play, hopefully a slightly larger part. :) alrighty…happy sunday

pictures of new computer
So some of them are just the outside of the computer. my camera isn’t very good so it doesn’t capture the intricacy of the pattern. the one with the bird is my mouse. :) i also have a wireless mouse that has the same matching print. i love my little computer! only $400 on hp.com

….
well actually the post below was written on the 23rd, but i couldn’t publish it til the 24th cause i didn’t have internet until then. :)
Yellow Butterflies
today was long, but fun. we went to church, then i went and cleaned my room while Jake attended a bunch of church meetings. He came and picked me up and we went over to his house for lunch (breakfast for me). one thing i hate about school is that there’s no breakfast, so if you have church at 10 then you can’t eat until 1. it’s pretty miserable. but anyway we had lunch and then he had another meeting (it was a busy sunday for him) and i watched youtube.com trying to figure out how to work out the rubix cube. (i finally figured it out…well 3 youtube videos later i had it all worked out). we headed over to Mililani and attended Audrey’s seminary graduation. it was pretty much the same as any other one. it was nice to see Hannah and Emma again. now we’re headed to my parent’s house and then we’ll eat their food, make a mess, clog up the toilets and be on our way. :) hahaha, well anyway we’ll head back to campus and then homework and sleep.

Snickerie doodlie dooo
today is one of those goofy days. i don’t want to work or write papers. i want to play with kittens and ribbons and other pretty things that make Julie Andrews happy.
OK SAD STORY
well…sort of. there’s this little cat that lives in our hale and he was walking around today with a limp. :( i wanted to help but i’m an English major, not a vet! i knew i got into the wrong profession!
well, i dunno what to do now. i mean i know i’m going to work and do my paper [despite my kittenish desires], but i would really love like all the time in the world to just write and work on my stories and allow myself to be completely enveloped in the worlds i’ve created. you know what i mean?
no. maybe not. anyway, i’m listening to Breakthrough by Colbie Caillat, i really like it. anywho. time to work on school work

BYUH Security Nazis
it’s monday night. monday night means movie night for Jake and i. tonight, due to dinner taking kind of long to cook, we started the movie kind of late and didn’t make it back to campus until a little after one. Curfew is 12.
Anyway, so jake and i are sitting in front of the hales…under a bright light….and a camera…where the WHOLE WORLD could see us if they wanted to, all they had to do was look. we’re sitting there talking and all of the sudden one of the red security trucks starts driving by and they stop right in front of the door. i see them. i ignore them. we keep talking, we were in the middle of a conversation and had they left, we’d have finished in the next half hour. but noooooo (i hope you can hear my sassy melodramatic no), they decide to take matters into their own hands, they shine their scary little light beam on us (because flashlights are…intimidating? hmmm….must have missed that memo). we continue to talk and finally i get irratated with them enough that i tell Jake that we should probably just go because it’s been a whole 4 minutes since we sat down there and heaven only knows what can happen in the well lit/well watched areas of campus. (please). so we kiss goodnight and i go up to my room grumbling about these nazis.
i’m 20 years old. i do not need a babysitter folks, haven’t needed one for years, “I’m a big girl, i tie my own sandals and everything.”
i’m talking with my roommate and we’re both complaining about how lame a lot of our “rules” are. Jake calls and he has a fantastic encounter to tell me. (i asked him if the security guy approached him). Jake said (he was pretty upset that he had to leave- we were in kind of an important conversation and we really needed to finish it) he walked up to the security guy and said,
“It’s a good thing you came along, because we were just about ready to have sex there under that light.”
Apparently the man didn’t think that was funny cause he said, “If you wanna be funny, well that’s fine. i can take your name into Honor Code (for sitting under a light and talking with his Fiance? good luck with that one buddy) and you can be suspended.”
“So, how does it feel to get paid for being our babysitter?” Jake’s final words to the man.
don’t worry, no one got dragged off in handcuffs. jake’s fine, i’m fine. but i think it goes to show that our security should be more concerned about people that want to get on campus and actually harm us than couples sitting in well lit, preapproved places. granted it was 1 in the morning, but hello, we’re adults. how on earth does anyone expect us to become independent if every time we turn around they’re staring at us with their flashlights yelling (in nasally voices) “Are you keeping Honor Code?” “Are you in Standards?”
Sometimes this school is such a joke.

Brand New Computer!!
Oh. my. goodness!! ok so i got a new computer and it is sooo cute! i thought it was just a floral print and it’s not. i mean it IS a floral print but it’s also got animals in it! there are all these hidden peacocks, lions, tigers, bears and even seahorses!! WILD! anyway i just thought i’d brag a little since my last computer left much to be desired. there are a few things i’m still iffy on; for example, it’s a mini so everything is a lot smaller (like the keyboard, i keep pushing ; instead of ‘ or i push = instead of backspace) and i need to figure out how to get Microsoft Office on here too. the whole reason i got it was to work on homework and i can’t since i have no writing tools. i do-however- have this fantastic thing called Windows Live Writer (which i’m writing this from right now) and it logs directly onto my blog and i can blog without having to go through the whole log-on process. pretty sweet huh? anyway, i really ought to put the AMAZINGLY CUTE little computer away and do some homework and study up for my mid-term tomorrow. Wish me luck!! :)

Chaotic Commotion
Some days it doesn’t seem like we’ll survive this craziness, but no worries; I have faith in us. Some of our pandemonium includes lots and lots of reading. I’m talking hundreds of pages here—plus loads of brand new terminology, as well as the usual essays and research papers. Don’t forget work and time we have set aside for “us” time. Let me tell you being in school is not easy; working is not easy; none of this is easy, but it’s totally worth it. It’s rough now (hopefully one day it will be ruff because we’ll get a puppy!!) and sometimes it’s plain old boring but for the most part we’re pulling through by scratching one another’s backs, keeping each other on track and –all in all—just being there for each other. I’m discovering that I depend on him more than I ever thought I would. Don’t get me wrong, I could still function and do this on my own, but I don’t want to and now I don’t have to. I don’t know that there’s anything I wouldn’t want Jake around for. Does that make sense? Anyway I love him and he loves me and how it’s just about getting through the term so we can make it to summer. :)
